So here's a little update on what's happening this weekend! I feel bad that I didn't update last weekend's happenings because they were AMAZING...including Oktoberfest and Light the Night Art Prize project last Friday night...plus the Urban Adventure Race! Man I was slacking!
BUT this next weekend is Pulaski Days!! Grand Rapids has 3 large populations of people: Dutch, Polish and Mexican. All three have awesome celebrations. This weekend, the Polish celebrate and it's gonna get a little rowdy. Grand Rapids is home to 15 different Polish halls, or clubs. They are small, hole in the wall bars that are for members. ( Get the entire list with locations at Polish Halls- Grand Rapids) On Pulaski Day weekend they open up to the public ( for a small cover charge usually $3-$5) for drinking and the most delicious foods. There are plenty of "hall crawls" and legitimate wagons that pull people from hall to hall for a single fee. It is guaranteed to be some fun. Don't forget to wear your red and white!
PS- check out the Pulaski Day Parade with your kiddos on Sat October 6th at 1pm on Michigan NE!! They even name a Pulaski Days queen!
