Wino

WINE WINE WINE. There are two venues I go to for my wine, beer and liquor in GR. Both are wonderful but one sticks out, so we will start there.

Martha's Vineyard: 200 Union NE, Grand Rapids, MI
Specialty wine from all over the world, beer from Michigan and all over the world, specialty liquor, fresh veggies and bread made daily, world chocolates, cheeses, deli meats, pasta, chips, candy, cheese cake, gelato, covered espresso beans, cigars....the list goes on and on. Martha's Vineyard is where it is at. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly, and not to mention mostly good looking :) I have never walked into Matha's Vineyard and not found what I was looking for OR not bought something. This inviting little shop tends to be quite famous and has been known to serve a variety of celebrities who come into Grand Rapids. Do not come to, or live in Grand Rapids w/ out at least one or two visits! Plus, Nantucket Bakery is right next door, which could be an entire other post on its own.

The Crushed Grape:
2869 Knapp St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525
(616) 719-2518

I think the reason I love this wine, beer and liquor shop is that it reminds me of Martha's Vineyard. There is less food, but the same liquors and most of the same beers. It is very cute and clean and the location is convenient. The one thing I have found here that I have never seen at Martha's is alcoholic whip cream in like 5 different flavors. Pair that with the best choclate bar in the world- almond toffee milk choclate by XOXO and you have a good night ahead of you. They also have a great pizza place next door to them called Lacari's- ate there about a month ago...it's small but very fresh tasting pizza.
