So here is some advice on Grand Valley::
1. Students: GET CONNECTED! There are a ton of student organizations!! Check them out- from Greek life to running club to sign language club to religious affiliations' groups. There is a place for you, I promise. You just have to be a. Little adventurous and get out there.
2. Everyone: Go to GVSU sporting events! They are a ton of fun!! Football has great tailgating and the student section is crazy! But Grand Valley has many D2 sporting championships so the games and event are fun. Sporting event tickets are normally free with a student ID. Find out all the info you need here : http://www.gvsulakers.com/ :)
3. Everyone: Eat on Grand Valley's campus. Fresh Food. Need I say anymore? LOL yes, I gained my freshmen forty...yes forty. Don't do that. But Einstein Bros is another of my faves- good coffee, bagels, soup and sandwiches. Look out for their fall special: pumpkin bagel and pumpkin cream cheese, YUM.
4. Everyone, especially Grand Valley Students: Workout here! There is a beautiful field house with a great 3 level gym, 4 open basketball courts, and a pool. Intramural sports are held here. There is also a dance studio in the field house that houses group classes such as yoga, pilates, butts and guts and spin. The other thing to check out in the field house is their rock climbing center...good people and a chill atmosphere.
So there it is, you don't even have to be a student to enjoy the Grand Valley life. But I would recommend to all students: you are paying thousands in tuition at GVSU...UTILIZE the facilities, the organizations and the entertainment :)
Grand Valley University is considered as one of the biggest colleges in Grand Rapids campus. It has all the facilities and amenities that makes this college outstanding.
