Eastown

Eastown and East Grand Rapids' Gaslight village, two places very close in location but a bit different in atmosphere. They are located on the NE side of Grand Rapids and each have a certain charm. In this post I will talk about some of my Eastown favorites.
Eastown is a mixed salad of hipster, granola, wealthy, poor college student, classy, athletic, bike riding, Suburu driving, green-movement conscious people. Yes, that is the stereotype and not everyone fits this mold... but that is the feel. I love East town and frequent its restaurants and shops.

Here are some places to hit...
1. Yesterdog, obviously. This is a Grand Rapids classic. So yummy, but make sure to bring cash...$5 will get you enough :)

2. Wolfgang's breakfast! Cooper skillet, the Bread Lady, omelettes galore. Don't miss it!! $10 will cover breakfast and tip...generally.

3. Funky Buddha Yoga is Grand Rapids' most popular spot for the popular bikram yoga, aka hot yoga.

4. Indochine, for your Chinese food. Exceptional food, decent price. The building was rebuilt 3? years ago after the building blew up...lol don't worry it was early morning late night and no one was hurt and NOW the building is safe!

 5. Harmony Brewing for a delicious IPA and slice of pizza. Also, try their hop brownie with a good brew!! Yum! Plus a great great atmosphere and outdoor seating.

6. Hookah Lounge...name explains itself. A fun night and a good smoke

7. Bombay Cuisine...pretty good Indian food, but in my personal opinion, too expensive when you can go to Palace of India on Fulton NE where the food is better. But if you have dinner here you can make the 10ft walk to Queen's Pub after for a scrumptious martini!
